Hands-on

Men have traditionally been very hands-on. They like to fix things which have broken, and sometimes, even the ones that are not. They like working with hammers and spanners.

This has given rise to a new kind of industry. Its called DIY, or Do It Yourself. Here, a person buys a kit which has all the parts needed to make a particular item. The kit, generally, also contains an instruction manual on how to fix all the parts together, and make the resultant item work properly. This sort of activity gives men a sense of achievement and pleasure after their mundane day jobs. Such activities have also increased sales of high quality machining tools.
